What is a QR Code?

A QR Code, is a universal code which integrates given information: the result obtained after having scanned the code can take different form: contact card (VCard), simple text, GPS coordinates but it is frequently used to easily redirect users to a specific link (URL) through their smartphones.

QR stands for “Quick Response”. This means that in a few milliseconds, the smartphone camera detects the QR Code and sends back the information given, a bit like in a store with a bar code that indicates the prices.

How to scan a QR Code with an iOS device (iPhone or iPad)?

It is very easy to scan a QR Code with smartphones or Apple tablets, since iPhones and iPads include a QR Code reader by default from the “Camera” application. Follow the 3 steps below to scan a QR Code on an iOS device:

  1. Open the camera.
  2. Aim the QR Code through the camera.
  3. Click on the notification that appears at the top of your screen.

How to scan a QR Code with an Android device?

Android devices usually don’t have a QR Code built into the camera by default. You will therefore need to download a QR Code reader application to be able to read a QR Code. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the “Play Store”, the Android app store.
  2. Download a QR Code reader application, by searching for “QR Code” in the search bar.
  3. Open the QR Code reader app you just downloaded.
  4. Aim the QR Code through the camera.
  5. Click on the link that appears.
